SEREMBAN 2 THROUGH THE EYES OF THE AVID PHOTOGRAPHERS

A photography contest is set to unveil the township's beautiful secrets

Residents of Seremban 2 can be proud of their address because it honours both nature and the built environment. This one-of-a-kind feature is a tribute to award-winning developer IJM Land's remarkable town-making ability, as evidenced by its replication across other exemplar projects. 

Seremban 2is the crown jewel of Negeri Sembilan, encapsulated inside gorgeous nature yet equipped will all modern conveniences. The terrain is dominated by lush green spaces studded with trees and skillfully designed facilities that enhance leisure and pleasure. 

All of these wonders, and more, are already part of the common panorama experienced by Seremban 2 residents. With this in mind, IJM Land, in cooperation with Nikon, has created the S2 in My Eyes photography contest as a sure-fire way to illustrate the particular charm of this township.

Those who claim their address here have unprecedented access to modern amenities while soaking in the beauty of nature, a rare mix that distinguishes Seremban 2. We feel that allowing the people themselves to tell our story, best portrayed through the images captured by their camera lenses, is the ideal approach to display the beauty of this self-contained township," said Chai Kian Soon, Senior General Manager of IJM Land.

The contest welcomes photographers of all ages, so both aficionados and amateurs are welcome to compete for the attractive awards. A total of RM68,000 in cash and prizes has been set aside, so prepare your trigger finger for some shutter-speed action.

The time has arrived for you to let your imagination run wild in Seremban 2. Any subject that depicts or interprets the daily activities of Seremban 2 is acceptable for submission. Lifestyle, work, recreation, people, nature, architectural studies, heritage, food, and the environment are all possibilities. 

And there will be plenty of subjects for the camera lens because Seremban 2 is a place full of opportunities. Participants can go to the 15-acre City Park, where kites can be seen flying in the afternoon breeze. The Tai Chi practitioners there are intimidating, not to mention the regular family crowd enjoying a quality moment together. 

Then there's the four-acre lake in the park's centre, another location that will appeal to the opportunistic photographer. All of this speaks to the natural wonders that Seremban 2 people encounter on a daily basis. If nature isn't your thing, your camera lens will find plenty of subjects in the shape of gastronomic delicacies ranging from Chinese, Korean, and Japanese to western styles like Italian. 

Capture the pulse of life at AEON, Mydin Mall, and other locations. Sports and activities at the S2 Club also provide plenty of opportunities for photographers. These holistic living features demonstrate IJM Land's unrivalled town-making ability.

Seremban 2 was once a barren plot of agricultural land with a poor appreciating value in 1995. All of this changed when IJM Land took over and transformed it into the most progressive township in Negeri Sembilan. The township, which spans over 3,800 acres of land, is presently home to over 62,000 people, a number that is expected to rise as the potential of Seremban 2 is gradually unveiled.

Because Seremban has one of Malaysia's largest photographic communities, you can expect to see a high number of participants. Please keep in mind that all images must be taken within the boundaries of the IJM Land Seremban 2 township.

The S2 in My Eyes photography contest also commemorates Seremban 2's 27th anniversary by displaying a mosaic of the township's greatest images. It is also a motivation for the establishment of the IJM Land Seremban 2 Young Photography Club, which will serve as a purposeful and creative platform for engaging local citizens.

"We need to inculcate the importance of the environment into the youths since they are destined to become the leaders of future. Their united actions will influence how future policies will contribute to the preservation of our beloved ecosystem. And what better way to foster a love of nature in their hearts than by allowing them to record it via their camera lenses? It's a subtle way of showing people all the good things they'll lose if they don't rise to protect them," said Ng Oi Wei, Sales & Marketing Manager of IJM Land.
