Cadangan Yang Bagaimana Yang Patut Dikemukakan?

He he he... Let's see what Mommy Nadia said:

LIGHTER BACKPACK LOADS

Textbook usage should be on a loan basis. Books belong to the school and should STAY in school unless otherwise needed by students. Pupils and students should stop from having to lug around these heavy hardcovers and please, no backpacks on wheels!

MORE FIELD TRIPS

Students should be brought outside the comforts of the classroom more often for greater learning experiences and explore the outdoors. Whether it's a simple lesson on insects on the school lawn or a trip to Pusat Sains Negara, it will definitely spice things up!

GOODBYE EXAMS

Test and exams are important for assessment purposes and keeps students on their toes, but primary schools in particular should be less exam-oriented. Glad that the government has decided to do away with exams for those in Standards 1 to 3, but it should also apply to Standard 4 and 5. Possibly also (this time seriously) the abolishment of UPSR altogether! It could be replaced with something less intense.

NO MORE RANKINGS

All classes should be treated equally where students are not segregated according to performance and not subjected to numbered placings. To Mommy Nadia, this practice discourages students when they fail to be in the "top 3 placings" or "top 3 classes". Rather than setting a competitive atmosphere in school, why not replace it with a culture or working together, helping each other and cheering one another. When I went to school overseas, an awards system was implemented where a different student was certified as "The Shining Star" every month. It was special because teachers would specifically state what made you that shining star - whether it was for showing great enthusiasm (that was hers!), for helping a peer out or for making the class laugh.

SMALLER CLASSROOMS

This may take time to be implemented as it's a known fact that while the country is small, it is also heavily populated. A smaller teacher-student ration will enable educators to better cater the needs of each student.

Menarik kan cadangan Mommy Nadia? You have proposals too?
